Aputure Services

Cinema lighting design, rental house support, and creator studio buildouts for film, broadcast, and live production.

From a single MC RGBWW pocket light kit for a YouTube creator to a fully rigged 1200d Pro key with Fresnel optic and Sidus Link DMX integration for a feature shoot, our services team supports cinematographers, gaffers, broadcast engineers, and rental house owners through every step of fixture selection, modifier pairing, and on-set commissioning. We translate the requirements of narrative film, commercial production, and live event lighting into concrete fixture lists, beam diagrams, and power plans that hold up on set.

What our cinema lighting specialists deliver

Each engagement starts with a conversation between a working DP or LD and our application engineers. We map your shooting style, sound stage size, and color temperature targets to a specific fixture mix: COB Spotlights like the LS 600d Pro and 1200d Pro for hard daylight keys, Amaran 300x and 200x monolights for budget-conscious commercial and studio photography keys, MT Pro Tube Lights for hidden practicals and virtual production set extension, and MC RGBWW pocket lights for newsroom accents, podcast direct lighting, and live concert backstage cueing. We then layer in 26-degree and 40-degree Fresnel optics, Spotlight Mounts, and softbox modifiers so the beam matches what the cinematographer drew on the lighting plot.

Fixture Spec

Match COB Spotlight, Amaran monolight, MT Pro tube, and MC pocket light counts to your shoot type and stage footprint.

Modifier Pairing

Recommend Bowens Mount softboxes, octas, 26 or 40-degree Fresnel optics, and Spotlight Mounts for the right beam shape.

Control Architecture

Design Sidus Link bluetooth mesh, DMX, or CRMX layouts so gaffers and stage LDs cue fixtures from a single console.

Power Plan

Spec V-mount or Gold-mount battery counts plus AC adapter runs sized to your shooting day and generator headroom.

Process Timeline / horizontal numbered steps

How a cinema lighting engagement runs

We move from the first call to delivered fixtures and a working Sidus Link patch in four steps. Step one is a creative call with the director of photography or showrunner to align on look, color temperature targets, and production calendar. Step two builds the fixture list, modifier inventory, and battery or AC adapter plan against measured stage drawings. Step three runs a stage test where the gaffer fires the proposed key, hair, and ambient setups, validates flicker behavior at the planned shutter angle, and checks Sidus Link mesh health across the rig. Step four hands off documented presets, DMX patches, and a maintenance schedule the rental house or in-house lighting team can keep running without us in the room.

Creative Call

Align with the DP or showrunner on look references, color science targets, shutter angles, and production schedule.

Fixture Build

Translate the lighting plot into specific Aputure SKUs, modifier counts, battery loadout, and Sidus Link group routing.

Stage Test

Fire the rig on a real stage, verify flicker, color stability, and mesh range before the first official shoot day.

Handoff

Document presets, DMX patches, and routine cleaning so the gaffer crew runs the rig long after our engineers leave.

What we guarantee on every cinema lighting build

Every Aputure fixture leaving our service team has measured TLCI 96+, CRI 95+ photometry under both 3200K tungsten and 5500K daylight references, validated flicker-free behavior from 24fps through high-speed capture, and a documented Sidus Link or DMX address that matches the patch sheet you take to the stage. If a director of photography opens a 1200d Pro on day one and the green-magenta shift does not match the data sheet, our local cinema specialist replaces the fixture inside 48 hours so the production schedule never absorbs a lighting failure.

Photometry Match

Each fixture ships with its actual measured TLCI, CRI, and SSI numbers, not a generic catalog spec.

Flicker Verified

Every batch tested at 24fps through 1000fps so high-speed beauty inserts and slow-motion product shots stay clean.

Patch Sheets

DMX and Sidus Link addresses pre-loaded and printed so the gaffer plugs in and goes on the first call of the day.

48hr Swap

Local cinema specialist swap policy on flagship fixtures during principal photography, no production schedule renegotiation.
